The Point of the Redan

The larger Point of the Redan, was originally subdivided and used as quarters for an officer and a servant, in 1890 it was altered to create a Billiard Room. Ceremonies with a maximum of eighty, seated, can be held in here.

The Ante-Room

The Ante-Room, which is the proper name for the Officers’ relaxation area, has been restored to its full Victorian splendour. This room, with its large recessed picture window, formerly a gunport, has magnificent views of the Solent and the Isle of Wight. It can accommodate a party of up to forty-five, seated.

The Ceremony

From first viewing until the big day itself, you will enjoy the full attention of our event manager, who is there to help and guide you. A ceremony rehearsal, access for decorating and a fresh floral arrangement to complement your colour scheme, are all included. Of course, you will pick the music which will be played to your requirements on the day.

Celebrate

After the ceremony come the celebratory drinks. Served in the lovely Redan Courtyard or in the beautifully restored Victorian Kitchen, these settings really add to the atmosphere of the day. The galleries and courtyard provide a perfect and unique setting for photographs of the big day.

Gun Salute

Make your day extra special and an occasion you and your guests will never forget. A special and unique gun salute fired from one of the historic great guns of the Royal Armouries collection will make a memory to last a lifetime.

Exclusivity

At the Royal Armouries, Fort Nelson, we only hold one ceremony a day to ensure we provide you and your guests with our undivided attention so that your memorable day runs smoothly from beginning to end.

Did you know?

The whole truth

The phrase "Lock, stock and barrel" refers to something in its entirety, the whole thing – in the same way that a complete gun has a lock, a stock and a barrel.
