This series of seminars will give you an opportunity to experience first hand some of the finest objects from the Royal Armouries great collections.

6. Home Front and Front Line: 1914-1918

Investigate the home front with rarely seen panoramic photographs of a national filling factory at Chilwell and discover how Leeds company Greenwood and Batley contributed to the war effort and profited by it.

7. Golden Wednesdays: Adult Talks and Workshops

A series of talks and workshops for adults focusing on the Tudors.

These introductory sessions give an overview of some of the significant events in the Tudor period, followed by a chance to handle some of our original and replica objects.

9. Art Workshops

These 90 minute adult art workshops will introduce you a variety of inspiring and creative classes. Led by our specialist tutor, these workshops are small, friendly and relaxed.

Ian Bottomley, former senior curator of Oriental arms and armour at the Royal Armouries, gives a fascinating insight into the traditions and techniques of Japanese armourers and swordsmiths.

2. Firearms of the American Civil War Seminar

Learn about the development of small-arms in the United States during the first part of the 19th century.

3. Flashman Seminar

As a tribute to the author, George MacDonald Fraser, who died earlier this year, this seminar follows the career of Sir Harry Flashman VC.

4. Pistols and Revolvers Seminar

This seminar, led by Stuart Taylor, of the Historical Breechloading Small Arms Association.

5. On A Knife Edge: the ethics of weapons display

A seminar discussing the ethics of displaying weapons.

6. Hands-on Seminar: Wellington's Army

A two day seminar which is part of the Museum’s weekend of events associated with the Napoleonic Wars.

7. English Civil War Seminar

Learn about the realities of the English Civil Wars in Yorkshire, focusing on the Battle of Marston Moor. Also handle objects from the Popham armoury from Littlecote House.
