World War Two
Our World War II programme focuses on Portsmouth during the Blitz, the role of Fort Nelson and the “bigger picture”.
We use our extensive handling and wearing collections of real and replica artefacts and discover what our families did during the War.
This is a highly popular activity that not only looks at the War itself but often sparks the interest in a family history.
- Each booking is for a half day (finish at 12.00pm) or whole day (finish at 2.00pm). Groups usually arrive at 10am though this can be negotiated at the time of booking. The cost is £2.00 per pupil.
- There can be up to 4 sessions throughout the day, each lasting between 30 – 60 minutes depending on the age and ability of the pupils.
- Sessions are suitable for groups of 30 and any group larger than 30 will be split into smaller groups and will work their way around every session.
- We have enjoyed receiving groups of up-to 140 pupils in one day.
