Victorian Leeds was home to Louise Le Prince a pioneer of early film. This 90 minute cross-curricular session explores the Victorian world through armours, costumes and toys.

This session will support your study of the Victorians. After your visit to the museum why not explore the Victorian grandeur of Leeds? Take a stroll along the towpath to the heart of the city; it’s only 10 minutes away.

Did you know?

A flash in the pan

This expression originates with the misfire of a flintlock or similar gun. The powder in the pan was supposed to ignite the main charge in the barrel. Sometimes only the powder in the pan flashed without firing the main charge.
