Self-Led Visits
Our museum is an ideal site for exploring topics in History, Art and Design, English and Local History. There is no single route through its galleries, giving you the freedom to plan your groups’ activities. This creates opportunities for you to explore the topics and periods that are most relevant to your group.
We strongly recommend that teacher’s organising a visit for the first time make a planning visit to the museum. Read our Pre-visit familiarisation page.
In order to provide the best possible experience for your students it is important that you book in advance. This enables us to:
- Ensure cloakroom facilities are available for you
- Organise entry to the falconry and horse shows during the summer season
- Assist with SEN needs
- Advise you of any changes to galleries on the day of your visit
- Ensure your coach has a place to park
